The flag that doesn't turn.

A series of Apollo 17 70mm Hassleblad photos AS17-134-20508 through AS17-134-20513.
This series of consecutive shots of moving past the flag and LM while panning the camera purportatly shows that the flag is always squared on to the camera despite the fact that the camera is panning as it moves past.
In this animation, I've aligned the frames with the hills in the background and it is obvisous that the camera is moving past and panning as it does so.
It repeats several times back and forth to illustrate.

If you align each frame to the flag pole so that it stays in the same position as the camera pans such as to use the flag pole as an axis on which to rotate. Then enlarge the area of the flag, it is apparent that indeed the flag is rotating towards or away from the camera as the camera pans as it should. It is indeed not square on to the camera.
It repeats several times back and forth to illustrate.
